Cancún, Quintana Roo — A family puppet show about friendship and loneliness will take the stage at Cancun’s Teatro de la Ciudad in September. “Remigio y la visita,” presented by the company Títeres y Marionetas Shuto, will be performed at the Foro Hirán Sánchez, the theater’s black-box space.
The play follows Remigio, a dog who decides to live alone and on his own terms. The arrival of an unexpected visitor gradually changes his routine, showing that affection and connection can reach even the most solitary hearts. Through puppetry, the production explores love, tenderness, gratitude, and friendship — offering families a way to talk with young children about opening up to others.
Performances are scheduled for Saturdays, September 5, 12, 19, and 26, at noon. Tickets are available through Mistickets and at the Teatro de la Ciudad box office, open Monday to Friday from noon to 6 p.m., and at the venue an hour and a half before showtime. A reduced admission for children 12 and under is available only at the box office.
The company says the show aims to recreate the special connection that happens when a story comes alive before an audience. For children, puppets can open a door to imagination; for families, the play offers a chance to share time together and talk about the emotions it stirs. “Remigio y la visita” reminds audiences that sometimes an unexpected visit is enough to change a life.
