Tulum, Quintana Roo — Authorities arrested a 21-year-old man during a security operation in Tulum, seizing a firearm, suspected drugs, and a vehicle that may link him to a February homicide in the Aldea Tulum neighborhood.
Police identified the suspect as Adán Israel “N,” known by the alias “El Güero.” During the operation, officers seized a 9mm firearm, over 100 packages containing suspected drugs, and a blue Chevrolet Corsa vehicle.
Unofficial sources close to the investigation said the suspect may be connected to a homicide that occurred on February 10 in the Aldea Tulum subdivision, as well as recent alleged extortion cases reported in the municipality.
During the intervention, police secured 80 transparent plastic packages containing green plant material resembling marijuana, 14 packages with synthetic material resembling crystal meth, and 12 packages with white powder resembling cocaine.
The blue Chevrolet Corsa with Quintana Roo license plates was also seized and placed under authorities’ custody along with the suspect.
According to unofficial accounts, the vehicle was originally red and later repainted blue, matching the description of a vehicle allegedly used during the February 10 homicide in Aldea Tulum.
The same sources indicated authorities are also investigating possible links between the suspect and several alleged extortion cases in the municipality. Officials have called on the public to come forward with any information that could aid the investigation.
Following his arrest, Adán Israel “N” was turned over to the State Prosecutor’s Office, which will determine his legal status and continue investigations related to these incidents.
