Trump Warns Colombia and Cuba After Venezuela Operation

Donald Trump making statements about Venezuela, Colombia, and Cuba

Following the extraction and imprisonment operation of Nicolás Maduro in Venezuela, United States President Donald Trump distributed threats and pressures this Sunday to countries in the American continent.

To his Colombian counterpart, Gustavo Petro, whom he accused of “producing cocaine,” with sending to his country “a United States mission” like the one that on Saturday attacked several points in Venezuela and captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.

In statements aboard Air Force One, Trump said that Colombia “is led by a sick person who likes to produce cocaine and sell it to the United States, and he will not do it for much longer.”

The American leader said that his country seeks to have “viable and successful nations” around it and where “the free flow of oil is allowed.”

Questioned about whether there could be an “operation” in Colombia like the one on Saturday, in which Maduro was detained, taken out of the country, and brought to New York, where he faces charges of drug trafficking and narco-terrorism, Trump responded: “sounds good to me.”

Trump assured that the United States is “in charge” of Venezuela and added that “Venezuela at this moment is a dead country. We have to recover it and we are going to have to make large investments by oil companies so that the infrastructure recovers.”

Regarding Cuba, he stated that “it is about to fall,” since it will be difficult for Havana to maintain itself without receiving Venezuelan oil aid.

“I don’t think we should take any action. It seems that it is falling,” he asserted.

Trump lamented the deaths and revealed that the security forces protecting Maduro suffered many casualties during the Delta Force operation.

“Many Cubans died yesterday protecting Maduro,” assured the leader on his way to the White House. Maduro’s security was composed of a high number of Cuban agents.

The Government of Cuba confirmed this Sunday that 32 Cubans, including military personnel, died in the attack.

Reiterates Pressure Towards Sheinbaum and Mexico

Trump said this Sunday that his Mexican counterpart, Claudia Sheinbaum, “has some fear about the cartels controlling Mexico,” and that every time he has spoken with her he has offered “to send troops” to combat drug trafficking in her country, an offer that the leader has rejected until now.

Also in statements aboard Air Force One, Trump spoke one day after the American operation in Venezuela that culminated with the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.
