Cancún, Mexico — A violent robbery occurred in the Supermanzana 37 area of Cancún on Friday afternoon when three armed individuals entered a jewelry store located inside a Soriana supermarket. The criminals managed to steal jewelry and cash valued at approximately 600,000 pesos, causing alarm among those present and prompting an immediate call to authorities.
Police mobilized a swift operation that culminated in the detention of the suspects at the Motel Luz de Luna on José López Portillo Avenue, where they were attempting to hide in rooms. The arrest followed a pursuit that involved the seizure of a motorcycle and a taxi from the "Andrés Quintana Roo" union.
Tactical and intelligence units successfully captured two men and one woman. The suspects may also be linked to other robberies in the area, such as the one that occurred at Plaza Las Américas.
The "Blindaje Cancún" strategy, implemented by the local administration, continues to strengthen security in the city and enable agile responses to criminal incidents. The Quintana Roo Attorney General's Office is already working on the investigation to dismantle criminal networks linked to these events, in an effort to restore citizen confidence in public safety.
