An armed attack occurred at a bar in Playa del Carmen, known as "Tropical", located in the Ejido district on Wednesday. The attack resulted in at least three people being injured. The bar, situated between Diagonal 85 avenue and 10 Norte street, was reportedly targeted by alleged hitmen.
The injured individuals were immediately transported to the hospital via ambulance. While their current health status is uncertain, it is speculated that they may have suffered leg injuries.
Following the attack, officers from the Solidaridad Municipal Police and members of the State Attorney General's Office (FGE) of Quintana Roo arrived at the scene to conduct investigations. However, no arrests have been made at this time.
Eyewitnesses reported hearing a flurry of gunshots directed at the "Tropical" bar around 10:00 p.m. While the motive behind the attack is not yet confirmed, it is suspected to be related to extortion.
This incident marks the second attack on a bar in Playa del Carmen within a 24-hour period.
