Cancún, Mexico — Cancún is home to a large number of beautiful beaches, but three in particular are considered unmissable for any upcoming vacation. The destination, renowned for having some of the finest and most beautiful beaches not only in Mexico but in the entire world, draws millions of tourists to the municipality year after year with the goal of enjoying these natural spaces.
For those planning to visit Cancún in the coming weeks or months, these three stunning beaches are essential to know and visit. The following details will help locate them and explain how to access them for a moment of total relaxation.
Playa Delfines
Playa Delfines is one of the most famous public beaches in Cancún, known for its panoramic views, waves, and the iconic giant city letters. It is located at kilometer 17 of the Hotel Zone and features parking, free palapas, and other services.
You can easily arrive from downtown Cancún by taking the R1 or R2 buses destined for the Hotel Zone. You simply need to tell the driver you are going to Playa Delfines. If traveling by car, it is recommended to arrive early (before 10 a.m.) to secure a spot in the free parking lot, as it tends to fill up.
Playa Forum
Also known as Playa Gaviota Azul, this is a very popular and busy public beach in the heart of Cancún's Hotel Zone. It is characterized by its white sand and turquoise blue waters, with waves that are generally calm thanks to an artificial pier that functions as a breakwater, making it ideal for families and children.
It can be easily reached by bus (R1 route) from downtown Cancún, which runs along Boulevard Kukulcán. If going by car, you can use the parking at Plaza Forum, which is covered and secure.
Playa Langosta
Playa Langosta is a public beach ideal for families and small children in the Hotel Zone of Cancún, with calm and shallow waters. It is located at kilometer 5 of the Boulevard Kukulcán, near the Casa Maya hotel. Entrance is free and it offers several services.
To get there by car, drive along Boulevard Kukulcán until kilometer 5. There is free parking, but with limited space. You can also take a route 1 or 2 bus from downtown Cancún. Ask the driver to let you off at Playa Langosta. If traveling from the airport, take an ADO bus to the Cancún terminal and then take a bus from routes 1 or 2.
