Playa del Carmen — With the goal of strengthening citizen trust and consolidating transparent institutions, the head of the Internal Control Office, Cristina Alcérreca Manzanero, representing the municipal president, presided over the Third Ordinary Session of the Committee on Ethics and Conduct for Public Servants, a framework in which she presented a report of activities.

From the Oval Hall of the new Municipal Palace, Alcérreca Manzanero presented the strategic transition project towards the Committee on Ethics and Prevention of Conflicts of Interest (COEPCI), as well as its integration guidelines and functions.

She anticipated that the COEPCI will be based on the recommendations of the National Anti-Corruption System and the Secretariat of Public Function, with the purpose of consolidating institutional integrity and enabling confidential channels for citizen complaints and reports.

In this sense, the full committee agreed to hold an extraordinary session on October 16 to discuss and approve the normative documents that will consolidate the ethical framework of the municipal public administration.

In her report, the official stated that she achieved total coverage in the placement and verification of the poster of ethical principles and values in all departments, as well as an 81% progress in the integration of Ethics Commitment Letters in personnel files, with the goal of reaching 100% before the end of the year.

She also highlighted ethics training for 40.36% of the City Hall personnel and 61.11% in decentralized organizations, with total coverage projected for 2025.

During the session, Armando Orozco Juárez was sworn in as the substitute executive secretary of the COEPCI.

With these actions, the Municipal Government reaffirms its commitment to transparency, legality, and integrity in public service.
