In a collaborative effort between the Quintana Roo State Attorney General's Office, the Citizen Security Secretariat, and Yucatan authorities, a kidnapped teenager was successfully rescued and six individuals connected to the crime were apprehended. The operation was initiated after the teenager's family reported his disappearance to the Special Prosecutor's Office for Combating Kidnapping and Extortion.

On July 24, around 7:00 a.m., the teenager was abducted while waiting in his vehicle outside his school on Fonatur avenue. Three people threatened him and drove off with the vehicle, with the student still inside. Quintana Roo's C5 advanced technology was instrumental in tracking the vehicle and monitoring the kidnappers' movements through surveillance cameras. This technology enabled authorities to pinpoint the location where the teenager was being held, leading to his safe rescue.

In a coordinated response, officials from the Prosecutor's Office and the Quintana Roo Citizen Security Secretariat apprehended Edson Jesus “N”, Adriana “N” and a minor in the Villas Otoch Paraíso subdivision of Benito Juarez. Simultaneously, with assistance from the Yucatan State Attorney General's Office and the Yucatan Public Security Secretariat, Fernando Jose “N”, Jose Armando “N” and Erick Fernando “N” were arrested in the city of Merida.

All the arrested individuals have been handed over to the Public Ministry, which will determine their legal status. Given the severity of the crime committed against a minor, the suspects could face up to 100 years in prison. Attorney General Raciel Lopez Salazar expressed his gratitude to the public for their trust and emphasized the importance of reporting such crimes to ensure a swift and effective response from law enforcement.
