Another fatal accident occurred on Federal Highway 307, this time involving a taxi driver from Playa del Carmen who died after crashing near the Moon Palace hotel in Puerto Morelos. The vehicle involved was a Nissan Sentra, taxi number 1904, affiliated with the "Lázaro Cárdenas del Río" union, and was en route to Cancún.

While the exact cause of the accident is still under investigation, some witnesses claim the taxi was speeding, which may have led to the severe collision with a Honda van. The impact forced the van off the road and into the undergrowth.

Following the collision, passing motorists alerted authorities via a 911 call. The National Guard and paramedics promptly arrived at the scene. They attended to the injured, including a taxi passenger and the van driver, who was subsequently transported to a hospital.

Paramedics on the scene confirmed the taxi driver showed no signs of life. The Quintana Roo State Attorney General's Office (FGE) was notified to initiate an investigation. The Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) was also dispatched to the scene to collect the remains and transfer them to the morgue for a legal autopsy.

This incident marks another in a series of accidents that have occurred on Federal Highway 307 in recent days.
