Cozumel, Mexico — During a preventive patrol, officers from the Secretariat of Citizen Security detained a man identified as José Martín "N" in possession of multiple doses of drugs, including marijuana and crystal meth, in the Emiliano Zapata neighborhood of Cozumel.
Details of the Arrest
The intervention occurred on 65th North Avenue, between Benito Juárez Avenue and 2nd North Street, when officers observed an individual handling several transparent bags containing a green vegetable substance, suspected to be marijuana, near the rear of a black Chevrolet Corsa with its trunk open.
Upon noticing the police presence, the suspect attempted to conceal the bags and flee by entering the vehicle but was intercepted by state officers before he could escape.
Seized Evidence
During the inspection, authorities confiscated 31 bags of marijuana and an additional 48 bags containing solid fragments consistent with methamphetamine, commonly referred to as "cristal."
The vehicle was also impounded, and the detained individual was handed over to the State Attorney General's Office, where his legal status will be determined.
