Cancún — A Control Judge has formally ordered Luis Fernando “N,” also known as “El Inge,” to stand trial for his alleged role as the intellectual author in the qualified homicide of union leader Mario Machuca Sánchez in this municipality. The ruling came after the judge reviewed evidence presented by the State Attorney General's Office, through the Specialized Homicide Prosecutor's Unit.
Dispute Over Resources
The incident for which the suspect is accused of being the intellectual author occurred on August 4 of this year. Two men, traveling on a motorcycle, approached the victim. The passenger on the motorcycle then shot him with a firearm, inflicting fatal injuries.
According to initial investigations by the Criminal Investigation Police, the motive for the crime appears to be related to the dissatisfaction of the alias “El Inge,” who allegedly was not receiving resources from the union organization. Furthermore, the victim was said to favor his own people for jobs and perks, for which the suspect was not considered.
Allegedly Hired Three Subjects for the Homicide
The investigated individual allegedly hired three other subjects, who have already been formally charged, to carry out the homicide. The crime took place in a parking lot located in the Supermanzana 52 area of this municipality.
After ordering the formal charging of Luis Fernando “N,” the judge imposed the precautionary measure of preventive detention for a term of two years or for the duration of the judicial process.
