Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — Agustín Ostos, a Spanish content creator known online as “Soy Tribu,” reported being robbed of approximately $15,000 worth of equipment and personal belongings from his residence in Playa del Carmen. The incident occurred while Ostos was away from his home for roughly an hour to attend a gym session.
Suspects Entered with Apparent Access to Keys
Surveillance footage from the property shows a young man dressed in a blue shirt, gray pants, and a cap partially concealing his face entering the home without forced entry, suggesting he possessed keys to the premises. The suspect also displayed a tattoo on his hand, though the video quality made identification difficult.
Two accomplices—a woman and another man—assisted in the theft, escaping on a motorcycle with a black backpack containing the stolen items. Ostos later traced their suspected escape route using location data from his stolen devices, noting they traveled along 31st Street to 10th Avenue, then to 10th Avenue and 38th Street, before reaching the intersection of 10th Avenue and CTM, where traffic cameras are installed.
Stolen Items Include Editing Equipment and Personal Belongings
Among the stolen possessions were:
- A laptop
- A Sony A7S III camera with a 16-35mm lens
- Headphones
- Microphones
- An external hard drive containing unedited footage
In a video shared on his social media, Ostos stated, “I’m in Mexico, in Playa del Carmen. They just robbed everything in my house: the computer, the camera, the microphones, the money—absolutely everything.” He emphasized that the stolen hard drive held an episode he had planned to publish the following day.
Authorities Have Yet to Issue Official Statement
Local law enforcement has not released any updates regarding the investigation or confirmed whether Ostos’s report is under active review. The case remains unresolved as of the latest reports.
No further developments have been disclosed by authorities regarding Ostos’s case.
