Solidaridad, a municipality in Quintana Roo, recently celebrated its 31st anniversary. The event was presided over by the municipal president, Lili Campos, and the governor of Quintana Roo, Mara Lezama. The celebration was a recognition of Solidaridad's past achievements, growth, and prosperity.
The ceremony was attended by a diverse group of individuals, including the municipality's founders, former municipal presidents, state congress representatives, judiciary members, councilors, businesspeople, hoteliers, and citizens. The gathering took place at the City Theater.
During her speech, President Lili Campos highlighted Solidaridad's transformation from a small fishing village to a globally recognized tourist destination. She emphasized that Solidaridad is not only a paradise for tourists but also a home for thousands of people who have chosen to settle there. Campos praised the community for its diversity, unity, and resilience, stating that it is well-equipped to face present and future challenges with courage and creativity.
Governor Mara Lezama also spoke at the event, noting the significant progress made by the municipality and the pioneering spirit of its founders. She described Solidaridad as a thriving, cosmopolitan tourist destination that has come a long way from its humble beginnings. Lezama attributed the municipality's success to the hard work of its people, from those who maintain its beauty to the businesspeople who contribute to its development. She expressed confidence in Solidaridad's continued growth and the fulfillment of its residents' dreams.
The anniversary celebration concluded with a performance by Karenka and her Cuban orchestra, who entertained the audience with their music and dance.
