Mérida, Mexico — Miss Sofía Molina Rincón was crowned last tonight as the queen of the Club Campestre for the 2026 term, during the traditional debutante ball with which society bids farewell to the year.
There are 45 young women, including the new sovereign, who will make their presentation at the evening event in the Gran Salón “José Trinidad Molina Castellanos,” one of the most deeply rooted social events of the Club Campestre, whose beginnings date back to 1962.
Sofía Molina is 17 years old and is the daughter of spouses José Trinidad Molina Casares and Natalia Rincón Millet. She is the sister of Ana María, 19, and Natalia, 13.
Program for the Debutante Ball at the Campestre
Tonight, at 9 p.m., the doors of the Gran Salón will open for the entry of guests.
According to the program, at 10:30 p.m., the ceremonial protocol will begin with the welcome for the outgoing queen, Miss María Verónica Pérez Carrillo, daughter of spouses Marco Antonio Pérez Ricalde and Verónica Carrillo Ancona.
María Verónica will walk the hall’s dance floor on her father’s arm, and then from the stage she will deliver a farewell message.
Next will be the presentation of the debutantes, who total 1,752 since the Campestre resumed in 1962 the tradition of its predecessor, the Country Club.
At the farewell evening for 2024, 25 young women made their debut, meaning that this year the number has almost doubled.
The last person to be presented will be Sofía, who will enter with her father. Fernando Medina Gamboa, a member of the Club’s Board of Directors, will read the proclamation ruling for the 2026 sovereign.
Message and the Debutante Ball
President Rogelio Molina Casares will then deliver a message to the attendees.
This will be the first time that Rogelio Molina leads the traditional ball, as he only assumed the position last August, replacing public accountant Arturo Millet Molina, who was at the head of the society for 25 years.
After the message, the debutantes’ ball will begin, the general rehearsal of which was held the day before yesterday.
