Tulum, Mexico — Six individuals were apprehended during three separate law enforcement operations conducted across different zones of the municipality, where authorities confiscated firearms, narcotics, and multiple vehicles allegedly linked to criminal activities. The operations were led by the State Attorney General's Office, Municipal Police, and elements of the Mexican Navy.

First Operation in La Veleta

The initial seizure took place in the La Veleta neighborhood on 6 Sur Street, where investigative agents identified four individuals exchanging small bags containing a dry herb. The detained individuals were identified as Juan Carlos “N”, Marco Alí “N”, Pedro Antonio “N”, and Angélica Fernanda “N”.

During the inspection, officers located two handguns, a rifle, loaded magazines, and a variety of substances. These substances included pills resembling "tacha" (a street name for ecstasy/MDMA), fragments similar to "crack," a white powder resembling cocaine, crystal meth, and marijuana. A Chevrolet Aveo vehicle was also seized at this location.

Second Intervention on Tulum–Boca Paila Highway

A second intervention was carried out on the Tulum–Boca Paila highway at kilometer 7, leading to the detention of Dylan Humberto “N” and Luis Enrique “N”. Both individuals were found in possession of doses of marijuana and a granulated substance preliminarily identified as crystal meth.

Third Operation Across Three Communities

The third operation was deployed across the communities of Nuevo Durango, Tres Reyes, and Pacchen. State and municipal agents, along with Navy personnel, secured four vehicles: a Volvo CX40, a Mazda CX5, a Chevrolet Tahoe truck, and a Toyota Corolla modified for use as a taxi. Traces of a dry herb with characteristics of marijuana were located in all the units.

According to initial investigations, the vehicles are believed to be connected to an alleged criminal leader accused of operating activities such as weapons transportation, drug trafficking, illegal deprivation of liberty, and conducting patrols for his criminal group.

The six detained individuals and all seized items were turned over to the Public Prosecutor's Office, which will determine their legal status as the investigations progress.
