The Sed Theatre Company is set to celebrate its eighth anniversary with a week-long theatre festival in Tulum. The aim of the event is to foster a love for culture and art. The company, originally founded in Argentina by director and producer Fabio Camino, has been active in Tulum for the past three years, regularly staging performances in various venues.

The decision to celebrate the company's eighth anniversary in this way stems from a desire to connect the local population more closely with culture. The goal is to extend the reach of theatre within the community, bringing culture to an ever-widening audience.

The festival will kick off on Monday, March 3, at Dos Aguas Park with a play titled Qué hago yo sin lo absurdo y lo fugaz. This play delves into the life and works of Frida Kahlo. It promises to be an emotional roller coaster, taking audiences on a journey through joy, suffering, pain, and anger.

On Tuesday, March 4, at Foro La Hidra, the company will stage Mokatriz, a one-man play by Fabio Camino. This play, which has enjoyed considerable success in Argentina, explores the experiences of an aspiring actor.

The following day, Wednesday, March 5, at Pizzine Tria, the company will present a surprise performance titled Micro dosis. Although details are being kept under wraps, the audience is promised a thought-provoking journey through different worlds.

On Thursday, March 6, at La Guarida, the company will perform Ecos, a modern adaptation of Shakespeare's works from the 1600s. The week will conclude on Friday, March 7, at Radio Tulum, with an open mic night featuring improvisations, stand-up, and other performances.

All performances will start at 8 pm and are based on voluntary contributions. The overarching aim of the festival is to make stage art more accessible, providing the community with performances that inspire, entertain, and provoke thought.
