Security Forces Raid Drug Outlets, Seize Narcotics in Five Quintana Roo Municipalities

Chetumal, Quintana Roo — Security forces in Quintana Roo have dismantled multiple drug distribution points, seized narcotics and weapons, and arrested nine people during a coordinated operation across five municipalities.

The State Prosecutor’s Office, in coordination with an interagency task force, executed ten search warrants authorized by judges as part of ongoing efforts against drug-related crimes. The operations targeted locations in Othón P. Blanco, Playa del Carmen, Cozumel, Benito Juárez, and Tulum.

Othón P. Blanco

In Chetumal, authorities raided a property on Erick Paolo Martínez Avenue between El Naranjal and Alfredo Villa Bonfil streets. Police arrested Perla del Rocío “N”, José Manuel “N”, and Jonathan Abdair “N” near the site, seizing dried green plant material and a pink solid substance. Items secured at the property included:

  • A notebook with various notes
  • Two cell phones
  • A white camera
  • Crystalline solid substance
  • Dried green plant material resembling marijuana
  • Two gram scales
  • Pink solid substance

In a separate action in Mahahual, on Estrella del Mar street, officials seized crystalline substance and dried green plant material.

Playa del Carmen

In the Luis Donaldo Colosio neighborhood on 98th North Street between 15th and 20th North Avenues, security forces secured dried green plant material. Nearby, they arrested Kevin “N” and Lucía “N”, who were found in possession of dried green plant material.

Another raid on 84th North Street between 30th and 35th North Avenues yielded more dried green plant material. Authorities arrested Ángel Francisco “N” in the vicinity after finding similar material.

A third search warrant was executed on 82nd Street between 10th and 15th North Avenues, where officials located dried green plant material and a digital scale.

Cozumel

Three search warrants were carried out in Cozumel. The first, on 55th South Avenue between 15th and 29th South streets, resulted in the seizure of dried green plant material and rolling paper packets.

The second raid took place on South 5th Avenue, where authorities secured dried green plant material. A third operation on North Avenue between 4th and 6th North streets in the 10 de Abril neighborhood also yielded plant material resembling marijuana.

Tulum

In the town of Manuel Antonio Ay, investigative police executed a search warrant at a residence where they found a revolver-type firearm, white powder, and dried green plant material.

Near the property, authorities arrested Ezequiel “N”, Juan Carlos “N”, and Aneyla Marlene “N”, seizing a long firearm with a live cartridge, dried green plant material, and synthetic material resembling cocaine. Officials stated the detainees are suspected members of a criminal group responsible for generating violence in Tulum.

Items secured in Tulum included:

  • Revolver-type firearm
  • Long firearm
  • Live cartridge
  • White powder resembling cocaine
  • Synthetic material resembling cocaine
  • Dried green plant material

Benito Juárez

In Benito Juárez municipality, security forces conducted a raid on a property on 138th Street between 140th and 61st streets, where they secured suspected illicit substances, including white solid substance and dried green plant material.

Following the operations, the properties were sealed and placed under guard. All seized evidence and detained individuals were turned over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which will determine their legal status within the corresponding constitutional timeframe.
