Cancún, Mexico — A serious traffic accident recorded on the morning of Friday, January 2, 2026, in Cancún left a minor injured following a collision that caused one of the involved vehicles to roll over.
Crash at Traffic Light Intersection Caused Rollover
The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Diagonal Tulum Avenue and 20 de Noviembre Avenue, a zone of high vehicular traffic during the early hours of the day.
According to initial reports, the driver of a white Nissan NV350 van was traveling on Diagonal Tulum Avenue towards the Tabachines subdivision when he allegedly failed to respect a red traffic light.
At that moment, it was struck by a red Renault Kwid, causing the van to lose control and end up overturned on its left side, immobilized on the roadway.
Minor Injured as Result of Accident
As a result of the impact, a minor sustained injuries, although it was not necessary to transport them to a hospital, according to authorities at the scene.
Traffic officers and emergency crews attended to secure the area, conduct the corresponding investigation, and restore traffic flow, while reiterating the call to respect traffic signals to prevent such incidents.
