Deer Rescued After Car Crash in Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen — A deer was struck by a vehicle on Colosio Avenue in Playa del Carmen. The animal sustained visible fractures, prompting witnesses to immediately report the incident to emergency services.

Within minutes, Civil Protection personnel arrived at the scene. They immobilized the specimen to guarantee its safety and rescue it.

Specialized Veterinary Care Administered

Once stabilized, the animal was handed over to personnel from the Secretary of Sustainable Environment and Climate Change and the Federal Maritime Terrestrial Zone agency (ZOFEMAT), who assumed its transport to receive specialized veterinary attention and the necessary care for its recovery.

The operation was carried out in coordination between municipal and state agencies, with the purpose of preserving wildlife and responding promptly to emergencies involving protected fauna.

The actions of the citizens in reporting the incident, coupled with the rapid response from the authorities, make it clear that in Playa del Carmen, the awareness and culture of caring for the local environment and fauna is deeply rooted.
