Chetumal – With the objective of articulating proposals and monitoring public policies with a regional focus, the Fuerza del Sur: Municipios del Sur de Quintana Roo was presented this Friday. This organization brings together social and professional leadership with a presence in Othón P. Blanco, Bacalar, Felipe Carrillo Puerto, and José María Morelos.
During the presentation event, it was announced that Fuerza del Sur will be headed by Russel Pacheco Pacheco, accompanied in the organizational structure by Juan Macliberty Pacheco in the Secretariat of Organization; Antonio Barón Aguilar in the Legal area; and José Francisco Lara Uscanga in the Health axis, among other members from different social spheres.
The members indicated that the organization will concentrate its initial actions in the southern municipalities of the state, without ruling out the possibility of establishing links and collaboration schemes with other demarcations. The central approach is to promote proposals that contribute to economic and social development, with a medium and long-term vision.
Among the sectors identified as priorities are agriculture, industry, environment, and culture, which seek to complement tourism activity, considered a relevant but not sole component for regional growth.
During the presentation, reference was made to the fact that southern Quintana Roo has extensive historical, social, and productive wealth, with regional links that even reach Belize. However, the promoters of the organization consider that these elements have not been fully leveraged through comprehensive projects that sustainably impact the quality of life of the population.
Fuerza del Sur reported that its immediate agenda includes the development of public policy proposals and the holding of forums and consultations with different social sectors. It was also indicated that the organization maintains an open call for citizen participation and that, for the moment, it does not have a defined partisan affiliation.
