Quintana Roo, Mexico — Quintana Roo will host the 2026 Caribbean Culture Festival from Nov. 19 to 22, with Belize as the guest of honor, officials said as they unveiled the event’s official image.
The festival is organized by the Quintana Roo government through the Institute of Culture and the Arts (ICA), working with Mexico’s federal Culture Ministry and the National Circuit of Festivals for Peace. Organizers say the gathering is intended to strengthen the historical ties between Caribbean nations.
Four Days of Events
The festival will run from Thursday, Nov. 19, through Sunday, Nov. 22, 2026, bringing together artists, creators and audiences interested in the cultural traditions of the peoples who share the history and roots of the Caribbean basin.
Quintana Roo is the host state, but officials have not yet released the full calendar or the venues where individual activities will take place. A detailed program including performances, times and specific locations is expected to be announced in the coming days.
Belize Takes Center Stage
One of the defining features of this edition will be the participation of Belize as guest of honor. The neighboring country’s presence is meant to showcase its multicultural heritage, its musical traditions and its oral history, while highlighting the cultural ties it shares with Quintana Roo.
Organizers said the participation also aims to open space for artistic exchange and dialogue among communities in the region.
What to Expect
The festival will cover a range of disciplines, including:
- Music and dance
- Literature
- Visual arts
- Traditional cuisine
Beyond performances, the event is designed to prompt reflection on Caribbean identity, cultural diversity and regional integration, and forms part of a broader push to strengthen cultural tourism in Quintana Roo and bring artistic expression closer to local communities.
Venues Still to Be Confirmed
Authorities have named Quintana Roo as the host state but have not yet published how activities will be distributed among municipalities. Venues, performance times and any free events have also not been confirmed.
Those planning to attend are advised to watch for announcements from the Quintana Roo Institute of Culture and the Arts and the other organizing institutions.
