Quintana Roo Sends Para-Dance and Para-Athletics Teams to National Paralympiad

Members of Quintana Roo's para-dance and para-athletics delegations prepare to board a flight at Cancun International Airport

Cancún, Quintana Roo — Quintana Roo has sent its para-dance and para-athletics delegations to Guadalajara, Jalisco, where they will represent the state at the CONADE 2026 National Paralympiad.

Jacobo Arzate Hop, president of the Quintana Roo Sports Commission (CODEQ), accompanied the athletes on their flight and saw them off at Terminal 2 of Cancún International Airport. Arzate Hop said he made sure the trip included all necessary comforts and support for the travelers.

“Young men and women, you are already a source of pride for Quintana Roo. Give your best in every event, compete with heart, and know that your governor, Mara Lezama, and the entire state stand behind you and support you. We want to see you win and come home with plenty of medals,” the CODEQ president said.

The Quintana Roo para-dance team is made up of 11 athletes and three coaches. The second block of the para-athletics team includes 37 para-athletes and 16 instructors.

The athletes traveled two days ahead of their competitions in order to rest and train at the venues where they will compete, in line with the provisions of the New Agreement for Wellbeing and Development promoted by Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa.
