Suspect indicted for drug trafficking and homicide in Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — The Quintana Roo State Prosecutor’s Office has obtained separate double indictments against Gamaliel “N”, also known as “Maquiavélico”, for his alleged involvement in acts possibly constituting crimes against health in the form of drug trafficking and qualified homicide, to the detriment of a victim whose identity is reserved, in this municipality.

Gamaliel “N” Remains in Preventive Detention

The now accused was detained at the intersection of Lilis Avenue and Bahía de Plenty Street in the irregular In-House neighborhood. He received the indictment order for possession with intent to supply the narcotic cannabis sativa l. He was placed under the precautionary measure of preventive detention for the duration of the judicial process.

Regarding the crime of qualified homicide, the events occurred on June 29, 2025, when the now accused located the victim at the intersection of Bahía de Huatulco and Bahía Honda streets; subsequently, he approached the male victim and shot him multiple times with a short firearm, depriving him of his life.

During the hearing, the judicial authority also imposed the precautionary measure of preventive detention for a term of two years or for the duration of the process for Gamaliel “N”.

He Was Part of a Violence-Generating Group

It is worth noting that the accused was allegedly in charge of drug sales points and a member of a criminal group that generates violence in Playa del Carmen.
