Chetumal, Quintana Roo — The Quintana Roo government has opened registration for the 2026 Federal Aid Campaign, a program providing free medical devices and functional aids to vulnerable residents. The initiative aims to improve quality of life through distribution of items including prescription glasses, hearing aids, wheelchairs, and prosthetics.
The program is managed by the Administration of the Public Charity Patrimony of Quintana Roo with state government support. Officials announced that document submission will remain open until March 17, 2026, and encouraged interested residents to prepare their applications promptly.
Available Medical Supports
The campaign focuses on improving mobility, hearing, and vision for beneficiaries. Available devices include:
- Bifocal or monofocal prescription glasses for vision problems
- Hearing aids for patients with partial hearing loss
- Wheelchairs and functional supports like walkers and canes for limited mobility
- External breast prostheses and orthopedic bras for women who have faced cancer treatment
The program seeks to expand access to these devices for residents without sufficient resources to purchase them independently.
Application Requirements
Applicants must present original and copied documentation including:
- Valid official identification (INE)
- Updated CURP (Unique Population Registry Code)
- Recent proof of address (not older than three months)
- Mandatory 2026 medical prescription for those requesting wheelchairs, breast prostheses, or hearing aids
For minors, applicants must present the beneficiary’s CURP and official identification of the parent or legal guardian.
Where to Submit Documents
Applications can be submitted at the Administration of the Public Charity Patrimony offices in Chetumal at Avenida Miguel Hidalgo 61, between Álvaro Obregón and Ignacio Zaragoza streets in the Centro neighborhood. Residents can also process applications at municipal DIF offices throughout the state for easier regional access.
Authorities have established the phone number 983 285 3865 for questions or additional information. Officials emphasized that all supports are completely free, funded through federal and state resources, and no official or agent may request payments or commissions for the process.
