Quintana Roo Mobility Institute Strengthens Coordination with Tulum Transport Sector

Officials from IMOVEQROO and Tulum municipal government touring transport facilities

Tulum, Mexico — The Quintana Roo State Mobility Institute (IMOVEQROO) conducted a technical tour of Tulum’s public transport facilities this week, aiming to improve coordination between state and municipal authorities and the local transport sector.

The visit, led by IMOVEQROO’s Tulum delegate Renan Enrique Pérez y Pérez, included municipal mobility director Josué Chimal Chimal, municipal transit director Yessica Orozco, and Manuel Enrique Solís Alcocer, secretary general of the “Tiburones del Caribe” taxi union.

During the tour, officials visited the union’s user service center and the intercity bus terminal currently under implementation as part of local efforts to organize and improve transport operations in the area.

Authorities observed a demonstration of a taxi equipped with video surveillance systems, a technological option aimed at strengthening security, operational efficiency, and user experience from a technical and mobility planning perspective.

The group also reviewed progress on construction of new facilities for medical and dental services for union members, part of a comprehensive vision seeking to improve service conditions for both users and providers.

IMOVEQROO emphasized that such tours form part of an institutional strategy of technical dialogue, support, and evaluation that allows officials to review projects in development, analyze their viability, and strengthen coordination with municipal authorities and sector organizations within the framework established by Quintana Roo’s Mobility Law.
