Reggae Fest 2026 in Chetumal Celebrates Bob Marley’s Birthday

Chetumal, Quintana Roo — Authorities from the Institute of Culture and Arts of the State of Quintana Roo (ICA) are preparing Reggae Fest 2026 in the southern Mexican Caribbean and are calling on local talent to participate in this Caribbean celebration.

The Reggae Fest 2026 aims to celebrate the 81st anniversary of the birth of Bob Marley, an icon of reggae worldwide, during the month of February in the city of Chetumal. Therefore, the ICA is calling on solo artists and reggae groups residing in the State of Quintana Roo who wish to participate.

The call for applications is available on the social media channels of the Institute of Culture and Arts of the State of Quintana Roo (ICA), and registrations will close on January 31 of this year.

The festival celebrates the legacy of reggae and local talent in the state capital. Solo artists and reggae groups residing in Quintana Roo with repertoire in the genre can participate, and their presentation will take place within Reggae Fest 2026, with their schedule and day of participation communicated in advance.

Reggae Fest 2026 Call for Applications

Additionally, all solo artists and reggae groups may participate, provided they did not participate in the immediately preceding festival.

Interested solo artists or groups must complete a registration through an online form, which will request data about their repertoire and location. In the selection process, all will go through an administrative phase where compliance with the requirements established in this call will be verified.

The ICA will designate the Evaluation Jury, which will be composed of experts in the reggae genre and institute personnel, who will be responsible for determining who will participate. All decisions will be recorded in the minutes, along with justification for any adjustments.
