Cancún — With a firm commitment to strengthening the protection, care, and comprehensive development of girls, boys, and adolescents in Quintana Roo, Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa and the honorary president of the DIF Quintana Roo, Verónica Lezama Espinosa, led work sessions with the UNICEF representative in Mexico, Fernando Carrera, as part of the collaboration agreement between the state and the United Nations Children's Fund.
For three days, both leaders spearheaded the work in which various state agencies participated, to follow up on established agreements and advance in the construction of projects, public policies, and inter-institutional mechanisms that guarantee the full respect of the rights of children and adolescents.
Present were representatives from the Secretary of Health (SESA), the Secretary of Education (SEQ), the Secretary of Tourism (SEDETUR), the Secretary of Citizen Security (SSC), the Secretary of Well-being (SEBIEN), the Secretary of Women (SEMUJERES), the State DIF System, and the Attorney General's Office for the Protection of Girls, Boys, and Adolescents.
Governor Mara Lezama emphasized that the alliance with UNICEF strengthens the humanist vision of her government and places children at the center of public decisions.
"In Quintana Roo, children come first. Thanks to UNICEF and the coordinated work between institutions, we are advancing towards a more just, safer future with more opportunities for everyone," she stated.
For her part, the honorary president of DIF, Verónica Lezama, underscored that working in unity will allow for the consolidation of actions with a real impact on the life of every girl, boy, and adolescent.
"Our objective is to guarantee that they grow up in safe environments, with love, health, education, and opportunities. Every day we work so that their rights are protected, respected, and upheld," she indicated.
The work sessions strengthen cooperation with UNICEF to drive programs for prevention, restitution of rights, comprehensive development, and emotional well-being, as part of a common agenda that prioritizes the children and adolescents of Quintana Roo.
