President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, often known as AMLO, is currently touring the Yucatán Peninsula. He arrived in Chetumal yesterday to oversee the ongoing construction of the Mayan Train in southern Quintana Roo.

Following his arrival, the President convened a meeting at the naval base in Chetumal. The meeting included members of the Security Forces and engineers involved in the construction of the southern sections of the Mayan Train.

Section 6 of the project, extending from Escárcega, Campeche, to Tulum, is experiencing the most significant delays. The local community's ongoing roadblocks and demonstrations are the primary causes of these delays.

In light of President López Obrador's presence in Chetumal and recent violent incidents in the area, there has been a noticeable military mobilization throughout the city. This is particularly evident in the vicinity of the Centro neighbourhood, where the President is currently residing.

AMLO arrived on an Air Force plane, and a substantial security operation was implemented due to his arrival.
