Mexico — Pokémon GO is celebrating the Day of the Dead 2025 with a unique collaboration in Mexico: a new Mexicráneo inspired by the Pokémon universe, created by illustrator Vania Bachur.

The Mexican artist, known for her vibrant style, fused her love for the game with the colors, symbols, and emotions surrounding this traditional holiday.

“I am a Trainer in Pokémon GO, so from the moment this collaboration opportunity arose, the first thing that came to my mind was to draw the Team Leaders in my style and surround them with vibrant colors that represent the culture of my country, mixing them to pay homage to the world I inhabit,” commented Bachur.

The Pokémon GO Mexicráneo combines elements from the game's universe—such as the Team Leaders, Badges, Stardust, and Incenses—with traditional Day of the Dead symbols, including marigold flowers, small skulls, and candles. It also includes an interactive QR code that allows players to discover which Pokémon represents their Day of the Dead Spirit within the game, with a guaranteed special encounter.

During the event, several Pokémon like Cubone and Duskull will appear wearing floral crowns, maintaining their festive style upon evolution. Players will also be able to find Drifloon, Litwick, Phantump, Fuecoco, Fidough, and Greavard, with a chance to encounter them in their Shiny version.

The celebration extends to the Mexicráneos exhibition on Paseo de la Reforma, where, in addition to Bachur's design, the Mexicráneo created by the artist Mother will be displayed. Those who visit these pieces between October 18 and November 17 will receive bonuses such as double Incense duration and a reduced Stardust cost for trades.

The in-game shop will offer Avatar Outfits inspired by the holiday, and Trainers will be able to obtain thematic Stickers by spinning PokéStops, opening Gifts, or making in-game purchases. There will also be Field Research with additional encounters and special challenges.

The Day of the Dead 2025 event in Pokémon GO will be available until November 17, both in the game and at the Mexicráneos exhibition on Paseo de la Reforma.
