Save on Playa del Carmen Bills This November

Playa del Carmen, Mexico — The municipal government of Playa del Carmen has launched a series of discounts on municipal payments and outstanding debts as part of the Buen Fin promotional period, which will run throughout the month of November.

The initiative, led by the Playa del Carmen City Council, will offer fiscal incentives and discounts on procedures and services from November 3 to November 30. The program is designed to allow residents to get up to date on various municipal obligations.

Available Discounts

The discounts apply to a range of payments and services, as detailed by the municipal government.

Property Tax (Impuesto Predial)

• A 100 percent discount on late fees for the years 2023 through 2025, applicable when paid between November 3 and November 30, 2025.
• A 75 percent discount on late fees for the years 2020 through 2022, applicable when paid within the promotional period.
• A 50 percent discount on late fees for the year 2019 and all previous years, applicable when paid within the promotional period.

Traffic and Road Violations (Sanciones de Tránsito y Vialidad)

• A 50 percent discount on imposed fines, with the exception of those outlined in Article 188 of the Municipal Traffic Regulations of Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, as well as fines imposed for traffic accidents.

Environmental Sanitation Fee (Derecho de Saneamiento Ambiental)

• A 50 percent discount on late fees generated by the Environmental Sanitation Fee from previous fiscal years.
• A 10 percent discount on late fees generated by the Environmental Sanitation Fee for the current 2025 fiscal year.

Urban Development Services

Discounts are available for the issuance of Construction Licenses for residential homes:

• A 25 percent discount for medium-interest housing (casa habitación de interés medio), for constructions over 55 m2 up to 90 m2.
• A 15 percent discount for residential housing in the hotel zone, paid per square meter of construction.
• A 20 percent discount for residential housing in the urban zone, of medium-high interest, paid per square meter of construction.

Additional discounts for the issuance of Construction Licenses, Renewals, and Completion (for any type other than residential housing) include:

• A 20 percent discount for constructions destined for commercial and/or service purposes in urban zones, paid per square meter of construction.
• A 15 percent discount for constructions destined for commercial and/or service purposes in tourist zones, paid per square meter of construction.
• A 15 percent discount for constructions destined for commercial, industrial, tourist, hotelier, environmental management units, or properties outside the urban boundary and any other nature, paid per square meter of construction.

Use of Exclusive Public Space

• A 50 percent discount for the month of November on the payment for the use of 1.20 linear meters of public space, applicable when paid between November 3 and November 30, 2025.

Non-Compliance with Operation Permits

• A 30 percent discount on fines imposed for non-compliance with an Operation Permit.
