Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — The Playa del Carmen government organized a job fair this week to connect residents with employment opportunities, featuring over 700 positions from 20 companies.
The 11th Municipal Job and Labor Services Fair took place at the DIF Palapa, organized by the city’s Economic Development and Investment Attraction Department. Javier Maza Toledo, head of the Regulatory Improvement Commission, represented department secretary Antón Bojórquez at the event.
Maza Toledo emphasized that Mayor Estefanía Mercado prioritizes such initiatives, which create direct links between employers and job seekers to benefit local families.
Participating companies included Catalonia, Tergia Gas LP, Catalonia Occidental Xcaret Destination, Tomza, Hyatt Zilara, El Maharajá, Soriana, and Chedraui. The fair offered positions for drivers, receptionists, waitstaff, and other roles across various sectors.
Several government services were also available to attendees. The State Prosecutor’s Office provided non-registry background checks, the Municipal DIF offered free medical certificates, and the Citizen Security Department shared information for those interested in joining the force.
Local legislator María José Osorio attended the official event.
