The third edition of the 'Run With Me' 5km and 10km race is set to take place in Playa del Carmen on December 1st. This event is part of the International Day of People with Disabilities. Starting at 7 a.m. at Parque Fundadores, the race aims to raise funds for the Microtia Quintana Roo Association and the Playa del Carmen Comprehensive Care Center.
Event organizer, Edith Magaña, emphasized the growth of the event, which expects to attract 250 runners this year. The race will feature male, female, and Paralympic categories, with prizes awarded to the top three finishers in each category.
The event also aims to raise community awareness about inclusion, as well as promote accessible tourism in Playa del Carmen. This is particularly relevant in a city where 15 percent of the population has some form of disability.
