Playa del Carmen, Mexico — The Arts and Crafts Factory in Playa del Carmen has recorded progress in its first phase, with an investment exceeding 39 million pesos.
Governor Mara Lezama supervised the advances of the Playa del Carmen Arts and Crafts Factory (FARO), a cultural and training project that will benefit more than 120,000 people through artistic spaces and training facilities.
During a tour of the construction site, it was reported that the first phase of the Arts and Crafts Factory has an investment of over 39 million pesos, as part of a comprehensive project that contemplates a total investment of 70 million pesos for its completion. The complex is designed to offer cultural, artistic, and training activities for people of all ages.
Arts and Crafts Factory in Playa del Carmen Will Strengthen Access to Culture
The Arts and Crafts Factory building in Playa del Carmen will consist of two wings: the north wing, which will house administrative areas, audio and recording spaces, forums, dressing rooms, and services; and the south wing, which will include carpentry workshops, a playroom, spaces for mental health care, training areas, and sanitary modules.
According to the information provided, the Arts and Crafts Factory will offer artistic and technical workshops, as well as cultural activities such as theater, cinema, dance, and music, with the objective of expanding access to culture and strengthening community coexistence.
The Playa del Carmen Arts and Crafts Factory is part of a cultural infrastructure strategy that seeks to expand artistic and community training options in the municipality.
