Puerto Aventuras, Mexico — Local deputy Ricardo Velasco Delgado and councilman Orlando Muñoz Gómez met with residents and community leaders in Puerto Aventuras to strengthen hurricane preparedness efforts and support social inclusion initiatives.

Strengthening Civil Protection Measures

The meeting focused on sharing critical information about civil protection measures ahead of hurricane season. Velasco Delgado, president of the State Congress’s Citizen Security Commission, emphasized the importance of prevention in a municipality as vulnerable as Solidaridad.

“It is essential that prevention becomes part of our daily lives, especially in a municipality as exposed as Solidaridad,” Velasco Delgado stated.

Community Engagement and Political Alignment

The discussion also touched on community organizing, with several leaders expressing interest in joining the Fourth Transformation movement. Muñoz highlighted the value of grassroots involvement in local development.

“It is positive to find common ground with citizens who want to contribute to Playa del Carmen’s progress from a community-based perspective,” Muñoz said.

Support for Inclusion Initiatives

The event concluded with a show of support for the Puerto Aventuras Pride collective, reaffirming attendees’ commitment to inclusion, respect, and rights for all social groups.

This gathering is part of ongoing outreach efforts by both officials to foster open dialogue and active participation in municipal governance.
