Notorious Thief Arrested in Yucatán After Manhunt

Yucatán, Mexico — Following an intensive manhunt with support from federal, state, and State of Mexico authorities, América “N” was detained in Yucatán. The woman, who has an extensive criminal record, is accused of leading a gang of home invaders.

The 31-year-old woman, originally from the State of Mexico, was captured by agents of the Secretary of Public Security (SSP) and the Attorney General's Office (FGE) of Yucatán, in coordination with federal forces and their counterparts from the State of Mexico.

Her arrest allowed authorities to execute an arrest warrant issued by a control judge in the State of Mexico for the crime of robbery with violence in a home, committed in January of this year in the municipality of Tultitlán.

According to investigations, América “N” and three accomplices broke into a home in the Libertad neighborhood, where they threatened a couple with a firearm and robbed them of 60,000 pesos in cash, in addition to watches, perfumes, computers, and clothing. Before fleeing, the thieves warned their victims that they would kill them if they attempted to resist.

The criminals escaped in a black Lincoln SUV with license plates from the State of Mexico, but subsequent investigations allowed authorities to track the woman to Yucatán, where she was finally located and detained.
