Cancún, Quintana Roo — A new Turibus route in Cancún is set to diversify the tourist experience by highlighting the city’s cultural, scientific, and community landmarks, moving beyond its famed beaches. The initiative, led by Movility ADO’s Caribbean region general manager Gerardo Jerez Obando, seeks to reinvent tourist mobility as a bridge to local life, connecting visitors and residents with Cancún’s authentic identity.

A Route Rooted in Local Discovery

The Turibus Centro circuit includes stops at the Cancún Planetarium Ka’ Yok’, Kabah Park, the Beto Ávila and Andrés Quintana Roo stadiums, Tajamar Boardwalk, and the Sanctuary of María Desatadora de Nudos. Each location is designed not just as a photo opportunity but as a chance to uncover human stories and rediscover the city’s deeper character.

“Travel is about connection,” Jerez Obando stated. “Boarding the Turibus can be the start of reconnecting with who we are and what this city has to share. The new Centro Cancún route was created with the key purpose of diversifying the tourist experience in one of the world’s most visited cities while also reconnecting locals with their own spaces.”

Economic and Cultural Boost

The Turibus Centro is also expected to stimulate local economic recovery by promoting daily tourism and supporting cultural, sports, and culinary ventures in the area. When asked about the selection of stops, Jerez Obando emphasized that the route reflects direct feedback from users. “We listen to our customers, and one place people consistently want to visit is the Sanctuary of María Desatadora de Nudos,” he explained.

In addition to exploring downtown Cancún, passengers will have the option to extend their journey to the Hotel Zone, further broadening the scope of the experience.
