Cancún, Quintana Roo — A 28-year-old woman was injured Sunday morning after being struck by a National Guard vehicle on Kukulcán Boulevard in Cancún’s hotel zone.

Emergency services responded to the incident around 7 a.m. after receiving a 911 call, dispatching rescue personnel and traffic authorities to the scene near kilometer 12.5, across from Plaza La Isla.

According to an unofficial report from the Benito Juárez Municipal Traffic Department, the driver—identified as 26-year-old Alan Domínguez A., a National Guard officer assigned to the tourist sector—was traveling southbound in a white Dodge Charger with license plate 24485.

The vehicle struck pedestrian Verónica V. J., a 28-year-old hotel employee and Cancún resident, as she crossed the boulevard from west to east.

A traffic investigator documented the scene to determine responsibility. The National Guard officer remains in custody pending legal proceedings as authorities continue their investigation into the hotel zone incident.
