Cancun, Mexico — A motorcyclist died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver on Federal Highway 307 near the bridge leading to Cancun International Airport. The driver fled the scene without providing assistance.
The collision occurred at the entrance to the Merida bypass, where a white Chevrolet Aveo rear-ended the motorcycle with devastating force. Witnesses reported the motorcyclist was thrown from the vehicle upon impact.
Paramedics responded to emergency calls but found the victim already deceased at the scene. Authorities have not yet identified the motorcyclist.
The State Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation into the incident as negligent homicide. Investigators are working to identify and locate the fleeing driver.
