Motorcyclist Killed After Being Hit by Bus in Cancun

Cancun, Quintana Roo — A motorcyclist died Sunday evening after being struck by a bus on Jose Lopez Portillo Avenue near the third entrance to Region 94.

According to initial reports, the bus, operated by SEA and assigned route 2 with unit number 810, allegedly ran a red light at the intersection. Authorities said the claim will be confirmed or dismissed through an investigation.

The motorcyclist, a native of Chiapas, was trapped under the bus and suffered severe injuries. Private paramedics arrived at the scene but could only confirm the victim had died.

The bus driver, reportedly a Cuban national, remained at the scene. Traffic officers and investigators from the State Prosecutor’s Office cordoned off the area to collect evidence and determine the cause of the crash.
