Cancún, Mexico — A tragic accident in the early hours of August 3, 2025, claimed the life of a young motorcyclist on Avenida Costa Maya in Cancún, opposite the Azul Bonampak subdivision. The driver of the taxi involved fled the scene, leaving behind a grieving family and a community in shock.
A Devastating Collision
Unofficial sources reported that the taxi driver attempted to turn into the subdivision without noticing the approaching motorcyclist. The impact was severe, violently throwing the young man to the ground and killing him instantly. Despite wearing a helmet, he did not survive. Private paramedics arrived but could only confirm the absence of vital signs.
The emotional toll became unbearable when the victim’s family arrived at the scene. His mother, overcome with grief, knelt beside her son’s lifeless body and cried out, “Son, get up, let’s go home, baby… Pollito, my love.” The silence that followed was colder than the early morning air.
Taxi Found Abandoned
The taxi involved, bearing license plate A-418-TPC and fleet number 4705, fled immediately after the crash. Hours later, it was discovered abandoned in another part of Cancún, with visible damage to the right side.
Authorities Investigate
Traffic police and officers from the Secretariat of Citizen Security cordoned off the scene. Criminal investigators and ministerial police took charge of the case, while the State Prosecutor’s Office opened an investigation to examine the incident further. The victim’s body was transported to the Forensic Medical Service for an autopsy.
As the family prepares for his final farewell, Cancún mourns a life cut tragically short.
