Quintana Roo, Mexico — Michelle Domínguez, Miss Quintana Roo 2025, has publicly denounced Jorge Figueroa, the director of Miss Universe Mexico, accusing him of perpetrating various types of violence against her during her participation in the national pageant.
The state representative stated she is pursuing legal action against him and characterized him as a "danger" to the women involved in the organization.
Through her social media channels, Michelle Domínguez asserted she was a victim of insults, manipulation, discrimination, and psychological aggression. She further alleged that Figueroa entered her room without permission in the early morning hours accompanied by other people.
In her message, the young woman declared she has already begun the corresponding procedures to file a formal complaint.
"I come to state once again that I am a victim of grievances, manipulation of chats, and more from Jorge Figueroa. This person, whom I reported the day before yesterday for acts of violence against me during my participation in Miss Universe Mexico," Domínguez stated. "In this series of violent acts by Jorge Figueroa, there are pointed insults, aggressions, incitement to hatred and rejection, discrimination, physical violence—he encouraged it because he provoked my colleague from Tamaulipas, Gisella Flores, to hit me with a cell phone—and he spoke with my colleagues, saying that I was a person with irregular conduct when it is not true."
"I was a victim of violence from Jorge Figueroa. Not only did he insult me, he entered my room at almost 2 in the morning with five people to rummage through my things without my consent and, in addition to what I told you about inciting physical violence, he also exercised psychological violence and affected my performance during the competition," expressed Miss Quintana Roo 2025, who also published an image that, according to her, evidences an aggression related to the director.
The Denunciation
The Quintana Roo representative explained that she initially tried to address the case within the organization through institutional channels; however, after receiving no response, she decided to make it public.
"What is happening in the organization is completely irrefutable, I disapprove of it," she said. "I am still frightened because Jorge Figueroa threatened me in different ways."
In her testimony, Michelle Domínguez affirmed that her case is part of a series of abusive behaviors that, according to her, are repeated within the organization. She invited other participants who have lived through similar experiences to come forward.
"If you have also suffered something, report it! This man is highly dangerous. He threatens the safety and integrity of women and holds a very important position: the safety and responsibility of 32 women. And we are at the mercy of a danger, a monster, a subject who assaults."
Comparison with the Fátima Bosch Case
She added that she felt motivated after observing how the case of Fátima Bosch, Miss Universe Mexico 2025, was handled quickly after she suffered an incident with the Thai director Nawat Itsaragrisil.
"It surprises me because, seeing what happened in Thailand with my colleague who won Miss Universe Mexico, Fátima Bosch, there was an immediate response there. And, well, I would have wanted the same to happen in my situation and it was not so, that is why I am proceeding to state it through my social networks," she said.
