Minor Found Dead in Playa del Carmen Home; Prosecutor’s Office Investigates
Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — A minor was found dead Tuesday morning inside a home in the La Toscana neighborhood, prompting an investigation by the State Prosecutor’s Office.
Relatives discovered the body around midday at a residence on Jacinto Pat Avenue between Paseo Toledano and Chemuyil streets and immediately called 911.
Officers from the Public Security Department arrived, confirmed the death, and cordoned off the area to preserve the scene. Local paramedics certified the victim had no vital signs.
State prosecutor’s agents and forensic experts collected evidence and opened an investigation. Preliminary reports suggest a possible suicide, but officials have not confirmed the cause of death.
The body was taken to the Forensic Medical Service for an autopsy. Results will determine the official cause and allow the remains to be returned to the family.
The incident shocked neighbors, who watched the police operation throughout the afternoon.
