Mexico City, Mexico — Social media has erupted with complaints from Mexican content creators accusing YouTube of failing to process their June earnings. Despite payments typically being completed by the 21st of each month—with a deadline extending to the 26th—many creators have yet to receive their funds.

Frustration Mounts Over Lack of Communication

Members of YouTube’s Partner Program took to platforms like X (formerly Twitter) to share screenshots and express frustration over the delayed payments and vague communication from the company. The official @TeamYouTube account attempted to ease tensions by stating the payment window had not fully closed, though this explanation became invalid after June 27.

That same day, affected creators received an email from Google AdSense claiming banks had rejected the payments without providing a clear reason:

“The payment sent to your AdSense for YouTube account on June 27 was not completed successfully. Unfortunately, we were not given a reason for the rejection. Please check with your bank for further details.”

However, many influencers disputed this explanation, calling it false. Some speculated the issue could be linked to recent tensions between Mexican banks and the U.S. Department of the Treasury, which accused three financial institutions of allegedly facilitating money laundering operations. While unconfirmed, this theory has fueled further uncertainty.

YouTube’s Response Draws Criticism

Adding to the controversy, YouTube Mexico’s official X account restricted its visibility just as complaints surged. Creators voiced their dissatisfaction publicly:

  • “Did payments fail for every single creator’s bank? I don’t think so.”
  • “We’re going on five days without payment. Guess we’ll have to wait, folks.”
  • “The delay isn’t the worst part—it’s the total lack of transparency. Just bots and useless links.”

As of now, YouTube has not issued a clear official statement addressing the situation.
