Nine institutions in Mexico surpassed the regional average in the Net Promoter Score, according to a 2025 study by IntelLat. The Centro Médico ABC and the Hospital Zambrano Hellion are listed among the top 20 hospitals in Latin America for quality and patient experience.

Nine Mexican hospitals achieved an average Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 86 percent, exceeding the regional average of 74 percent, according to the ranking of The Best Hospitals and Clinics in Latin America 2025. The report, prepared by the specialized consultancy IntelLat, evaluated 80 high-complexity hospitals in nine countries across the region.

For the hospital industry, the NPS represents a metric that measures customer loyalty and whether they would recommend the services to other people, all measured on a scale from 0 to 10. This unit of measurement functions as a thermometer for the global health sector.

The results of the ranking, shared with NotiPress, positioned Mexico City's Centro Médico ABC, Nuevo León's Hospital Zambrano Hellion – Tec Salud, and Nuevo León's Christus Muguerza Hospital Alta Especialidad among the top 20 in Latin America.

Patient satisfaction was one of nine key dimensions contemplated in the evaluation, alongside clinical safety, operational efficiency, telemedicine, and medical technology. The NPS, an indicator used globally to measure the probability of a patient recommending a service, reflected a positive trend in Mexican institutions.

According to the firm that produced the ranking, this performance evidences advances in the hospital experience offered by private, high-specialty institutions in Mexico, particularly in states like Mexico City and Nuevo León. These states are home to the nation's highest-ranked hospitals in the listing.

The study's methodology included more than 900 data points grouped into categories with differentiated weightings. Each hospital was evaluated both globally and by dimension, without revealing confidential data. This data, the company stated, enables hospital institutions to conduct benchmarking with institutions of similar characteristics without invading privacy.

Since its first edition in 2009, the ranking has been consolidated as a reference tool for hospital centers in Latin America. For the 2025 edition, the consultancy applied criteria requiring a minimum of 35 percent compliance in all evaluated dimensions as a condition for inclusion in the list.

The results show the positioning of Mexican hospitals in key aspects of patient care, despite the operational challenges faced by the health system as a whole. The evaluations were conducted under international standards and with the voluntary participation of the analyzed institutions, IntelLat stated.
