Cancún to Host Pizza Festival Inspired by Naples Partnership

Mayor Ana Paty Peralta announcing the Cancún pizza festival at FITUR 2026

Madrid, Spain — As part of agreements reached at the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) 2026, Mayor Ana Paty Peralta announced the Cancún, Pizza Festival, a gastronomic fair to be held next July at Malecón Tajamar.

“With great enthusiasm, we want to share that this spectacular event will become a reality, celebrating the great tradition that unites Cancún and Italy, especially a dish that everyone loves: pizza. We will be able to share not only great food but also great cultural experiences and Italian products,” she said.

The municipal authority revealed that this initiative stems from the sister city relationship between Cancún and Naples, Italy, which will continue to unite the tourist destination to fill that setting with flavors, aromas, and family gatherings.

The announcement was made alongside Naples City Councilor Domenico Marrazzo and the Honorary Consul of Italy residing in Cancún, Filippo Strano, from the Cancún stand at Ifema, the venue for FITUR, where the celebration was finalized.

It was highlighted that this gastronomic and cultural encounter is inspired by the Naples Festival, combining local talent with Italian chefs. An open competition celebrating pizza creativity is also planned, inviting restaurateurs to participate, with prizes for the three best dishes.
