Explore the Riviera Maya on the New Mayan Train Route – Starting September 20th

Tickets for the Mayan Train are now available for purchase on the official website, with reservations opening from September 20th. The Mayan Train will start running on sections 5 and 6 from this date, providing a connection between Playa del Carmen and Felipe Carrillo Puerto. The service offers a range of ticket prices, from local to premier class.

The initial timetable for the Mayan Train includes daily departures:

  • Train 601: Departs Playa del Carmen at 8:48 a.m., reaching Tulum at 9:36 a.m. It then stops at Tulum Airport at 9:58 a.m. before finally arriving at Felipe Carrillo Puerto at 11:27 a.m.
  • A second train departs Playa del Carmen at 3:00 p.m., with an estimated journey time of 2 hours and 39 minutes, making similar stops.

From Felipe Carrillo Puerto:

  • Train 602: Leaves at 12:00 p.m., arriving in Playa del Carmen at 2:39 p.m.
  • Train 604: Departs at 6:00 p.m., making stops at Tulum and Felipe Carrillo Puerto Airport.

The Mayan Train offers two levels of service:

Premier Class:

  • National Premier Rate: 657 pesos
  • International Premier Rate: 873.50 pesos

Tourist Class:

  • Special Tourist (for students, seniors, and people with disabilities)
  • Local Tourist (for Quintana Roo residents)
  • National Tourist
  • International Tourist

Prices in the tourist class vary:

  • Full route between Playa del Carmen and Felipe Carrillo Puerto: from 205 to 546 pesos
  • Playa-Tulum section: from 78 to 209 pesos

The introduction of this new route is set to improve connectivity throughout the Yucatan Peninsula and stimulate tourism in the area. With the commencement of operations, the Mayan Train is establishing itself as a modern, affordable option for those wishing to explore the stunning Riviera Maya and its surrounding regions.
