Maya Train ticket sales launch on European platform Flix

Madrid, Spain — Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, head of the Secretariat of Tourism (Sectur), announced the launch of digital ticket sales for the Maya Train through the leading European platform Flix. This initiative will facilitate ticket purchases from international markets, particularly European ones, and will help strengthen tourism mobility in southeastern Mexico while enhancing Mexico’s position as a competitive and accessible destination.

During the announcement, a real-time demonstration of purchasing the first ticket was conducted. In this context, the Tourism Secretary stated that tourism competitiveness today is defined in the digital environment: through the clarity of information, ease of purchase, and integration of complete experiences for travelers.

She added that the Maya Train is consolidating as an engine for regional development, heritage conservation, and diversification of tourist routes. The train covers 1,554 kilometers, has 34 stations, and operates in the five states of the Mexican Maya World, having accumulated nearly two million passengers between December 2023 and November 2025.

She also highlighted that its ecosystem integrates with hotels, airports, museums, and parks managed by the Grupo Mundo Maya, which strengthens the visitor’s comprehensive experience and expands tourism revenue in local communities.
