Cozumel, MX — From the beautiful Isla de las Golondrinas, the heart of the Mexican Caribbean, Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa and the director of the Cozumel Parks and Museums Foundation (FPMC), Juanita Alonso Marrufo, have invited everyone to experience the 2025 Day of the Dead Festival on October 25 and 26 at the Museo de la Isla.
Accompanied by Lucio, Nemesio, Alejandra, and Óscar, artists and collaborators who fill this celebration with color and art, Mara Lezama and Juanita Alonso issued the official public invitation to participate in an event that pays homage to memory, culture, and family unity.
“The Day of the Dead is that magical moment when the heart remembers what the mind sometimes forgets. When music and memory intertwine, we understand that no one is completely gone as long as someone says their name and their memory survives,” expressed Governor Mara Lezama.
A Fusion of Culture and Art
Under the motto “Tradition, light and reunion,” the festival will bring together artistic expressions, music, altars, murals, and cultural activities that honor local roots. This year, Oaxaca will be the guest state of honor, sharing its music, colors, and gastronomy in a fusion of cultures that celebrates life, reported Juanita Alonso.
The Cozumel Parks and Museums Foundation is promoting this event as part of the commitment of a humanist government, with a feminist heart, that promotes education, culture, and a sense of belonging in every community.
“In Quintana Roo, our traditions are not told, they are lived,” affirmed the head of the Executive branch, inviting all families to enjoy this experience that illuminates the memory of those who came before us with art, light, and hope.
