A man was tragically killed in Cancún after being shot at point-blank range. Reports suggest that the man was on his way to buy cigarettes from a local store when he was attacked. The incident took place early on Sunday morning near a convenience store in the Paseos del Mar subdivision, located in Region 251.
According to emergency services, the attack occurred around 3:30 am on Sunday, July 28. The victim, a local resident, had left his home to buy cigarettes when he was intercepted and shot by individuals on a motorcycle.
The shooting took place at the intersection of Obsidian and Dominican Republic Island Avenues. The sounds of gunfire awoke nearby residents, who then alerted the authorities to the incident.
Emergency medical services arrived on scene to provide aid to the victim. However, upon assessment, they found that the man had already succumbed to his injuries.
In a related incident, a kidnapped teenager was recently rescued in Cancún, leading to the arrest of six individuals. The motive behind the fatal shooting remains unknown at this time.
