Cancún, Mexico — A court in Cancún has sentenced a man to 50 years in prison for committing acts of rape against a five-year-old girl. The assault occurred in the aggressor's residence during 2022, in the municipality of Benito Juárez, Quintana Roo.

An Investigation Bolstered by Conclusive Evidence

The investigation was strengthened by medical and psychological evaluations that confirmed the abuse, in addition to evidence provided by authorities that demonstrated the closeness and manipulation the aggressor exerted over the victim. The specialized prosecutor's office for sexual crimes highlighted that the victim suffered multiple attacks, always with the instruction not to reveal anything, but the evidence was conclusive.

The sentence also includes the payment of a significant fine and the public dissemination of the convicted individual's face, who is now considered the definitive responsible party.

This ruling highlights the commitment of Mexican institutions to the protection of minors and the fight against sexual violence.
